It’s Terror Behind the Walls happening inside the historic Eastern State Penitentiary this weekend. Be prepared for serious haunts and thrills as you are guided through the massive haunted house inside a real prison. Tickets $13 – $39.
Wizardry abounds this weekend at the annual Harry Potter Festival in Chestnut Hill, PA along Germantown Ave where side streets are transformed into Hogsmeade for a day and there is magic and wonder all around. On Saturday Oct. 17th families will get to watch a Quidditch Tournament beginning at 10am at Chestnut Hill College plus other Harry Potter themed activities, food, and fun including a Sorting Hat demonstration and more. Free.
Enjoy a Candy Apple Festival at the beautiful Linvilla Orchards in Media PA this Friday October 16th – Sunday October 18th. Plus take a Hayride to the Witch’s House and of course you can pick your perfect pumpkin in Pumpkiland from over 100 tons of pumpkin choices on display. Take a ride on a hayride or a run through the corn maze and enjoy all the fall fun to be had for families. Free admission. Some attractions ticketed.
Don’t miss the annual Philadelphia Shell Show and Festival happening Saturday Oct. 17th and Sunday Oct. 18th at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University in Philadelphia. Get up close and personal with over 10 million specimens of shell displays on view. Plus, family friendly shell themed activities and fun and shells for purchase, too. Free with museum admission. $17.95/adult, $13.95 children.
Bring the whole family over to the Penn Museum of Archeology and Anthropology on Saturday Oct. 17th to celebrate International Archaeology Day starting at 11am – 4pm. Enjoy the Museum galleries, talk to archaeologists, run through an obstacle course, and enjoy archaeology themed activities and fun. Free with admission. $15 adults, $10 for children, 5 and under free.
The Fairies and Wizards Celebration takes place at the Camden Children’s Garden this weekend running Saturday Oct. 17th and Sunday Oct. 18th from 1-4pm. This annual celebration will feature fairy and wizard themed activities crafts, and storytime fun. Free with admission. $6.
