It’s opening weekend of the Philadelphia Auto Show plus there are lots of great other family fun not to be missed this second Feb. weekend in Philly.

Race on over to the 2020 Philadelphia Auto Show to view more than 700 vehicles from 45-plus manufacturers. $14 adults, $12 ages 7-12, free ages 6 and under.

Indoor Mini Golf

Linvilla Orchard’s Fore! The Planet Indoor Mini Golf is a highly interactive and playful museum exhibit created by the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia and pairs important environmental issues with the fun of miniature golf. Enjoy 18 unique educational holes explore butterfly metamorphosis, a tropical rain forest, evolution, dinosaur extinction, food chains, and more. Tickets $6.95 adults, children $5.95.

Second Saturday: Exploring Ancient Egypt

Enjoy Second Saturday at the Penn Museum this Saturday Feb. 8th from 11am – 4pm. Discover what life was like in Ancient Egypt. Participate in a family-friendly tour, design your own cartouche and write your name in hieroglyphs. Don’t forget to pick up a scavenger hunt that will challenge you to take a closer look at objects in the Egyptian galleries. Stop by the games station and challenge yourself to a game in the galleries. Free with museum admission $18.

Sugar was an expensive good in the colonial era, and the sweet candies made with sugar were a true treat. Discover recipes for candied citrus fruits and almond cremes, or try your hand to assist the historic cooks in the reproduction kitchen. Learn about how candies, such as comfits, were made in the 18th century and see if you can keep track of just how much sugar was used to create all these marvelous sweets! Assist the cooks to create the eye-catching displays and sugar paste boxes that colonial party guests could use to take some of these candies home. $2.

Head to the Parkway Central Library to see Sundays on Stage: Celebrations of India. Combining fluid movement with complex melodies and rhythmic patterns, traditional Indian dance originated more than 2,000 years ago in Hindu temples. Artist Ramya Ramnarayan, in costumes, jewelry and makeup, brings the art form to life, highlighting the role dance has in the cultural and spiritual life of India. Free.

Universal African Drum and Dance Performance
Garden State Discovery Museum

Universal African Drum & Dance Ensemble will deliver a performance featuring song, dance and drum at the Garden State Discovery Museum at 12pm and 2pm. $14.95
