Bring the whole family out for the 34th Annual 5k Run for Clean Air brought to you by the Clean Air Council in celebration of Earth Day and happening this Saturday April 18th. Or enjoy a leisurely pace at the 3k walk/stroll and Kids Fun Run for ages 5 and under. Free Earth Day Celebration includes eco-friendly fun including make and take crafts, a rock climbing wall, and more. Onsite registration for 5k run and 3k walk. Registration opens at 7:30am. Walk/run starts at 9am, kids free fun run begins at 10:30am.
Enjoy the beauty of the springtime season at the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival taking place this Saturday April 18th at Morris Arboretum. $16 for adults, $8 for ages 3-17, free for children under 3.
The Fairmount Water Works celebrates one of the Schuylkill River’s favorite fish at the free Shad Festival this Saturday April 18th starting at 10am. Participate in a fishing clinic to learn basic techniques for all ages from certified instructors, enjoy cooking demonstrations and a fish rubbing craft, too. Free.
The Art of the Brick continues this weekend running Friday April 17th through Sunday April 19th at The Franklin Institute. The display of LEGO brick masterpieces explores the intersection of art and science and will delight builders and LEGO fans of all ages. Tickets $24-$29 and does not include museum admission.
Celebrate Rome’s Birthday at the Penn Museum this Saturday April 18th with gladiatorial bouts, battle formation reenactments, expert talks, food, arts, crafts and more as your little ones take this trip through time to explore the ancient Roman Empire right here in Philly! Free with museum admission. $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 6-17, free for children 5 and under. School District of Philadelphia students and their families enjoy FREE admission to the event (limited to the first 500 visitors) with a current ID or report card.
