Happy St. Patty’s Day Weekend to all! Whether you’re heading out to the Sugarloaf Craft Festival or getting your groove thing on at Baby Loves Disco or planning to celebrate St. Pat’s at one of these great family friendly events, make sure your put on your green and enjoy the celebrations of all things Irish (and fun!) this weekend.
The Sugarloaf Crafts Festival is running this weekend at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA. view over 250 juried craftspeople show and sell their own unique handmade items ranging from pottery, jewelry, furniture and more. Plus taste gourmet food samples, live music and special childrens entertainment from Middle Earth Studios featuring costumed storytelling. Runs Fri-Sat. March 16-17 10am – 6pm and Sun March 18th from 10am – 5pm. Tickets $9 at the door. Kids 12 and under free.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Kix and Giggles indoor playland on Saturday March 17th starting at 10am. Kids can enjoy arts and crafts, face painting, games and fun. Food available for purchase, too. $10.
The 34th Annual Springfield Township St. Patrick’s Day parade will be held on Saturday March 17th starting from 12 Noon – 4pm. Come out and enjoy this free annual parade full of fun for the whole family including marching bands, string bands, veterans groups, police and fire squads and more. Irish dancing pre-parade entertainment starts at 11:30am. The parade starts on West Springfield and Britton Roads. Free.
Enjoy this family friendly show of Lotsa Lucky Leprechauns featuring four famous Irish stories about the magic and mystery of the little people of Ireland at the Broadway Theater of Pitman. Geared for ages 3-9. Showings on Saturday March 17th at 10am and 1pm. Tickets $7-$9.
Head out to the amazing SMITH the Kids’ Play Place in the Park this Saturday March 17th from 10am – 12:30pm for March Madness. Kids 5 and younger and their caregivers are invited to this special St. Patty’s Day event hosted by the Junior League of Philadelphia. Enjoy some kid friendly March madness activities including basketball, a mini cheer clinic, pot of gold toss, shamrock relay, sports themed crafts, and kiddie zumba and more. Free.
Come out to the Brandywine Zoo in Wilmington to celebrate the luck of the Irish this Saturday March 17th from 1-3pm. Wear your green to celebrate the Irish and to support a “greener” Earth. Plus enjoy green crafts and other activities in support of wildlife education. $4 per person.
Come down the hill and through the woods to Pooh Corner on Saturday March 17th at 11am for this magical telling of this Children’s Classic at Media’s Hedgerow Theater featuring music and audience participation sure to delight the whole family. Plus take photos with your favorite characters and have juice and cookies in the lobby after the show. Tickets $9 for children, $11 for adults.
This unique family Baby Loves Disco dance party with special guest DJs and MCs, dance contests and more lets your littles get their grove thing on, too! Plus enjoy healthy snacks and juiceboxes, a family photobooth, a crawl zone for the little ones, and a cashbar for the non-driving parents, too. $20 per person. 6 for $60.
Swarthmore’s Creative Living Room will again host Jungle John and his amazing live animal show this Saturday March 17th at 4:30pm. Be amazed by his slippery, slithery friends as he delights kids and adults (and repels some!) with his live reptiles and amphibians. Geared for kids ages 2.5 – 10 yrs. Tickets $7.
Enjoy free admission to the Brandywine River Museum on Sunday March 18th from 9:30am – 12 Noon. Bring the whole family to the beautiful museum featuring classic American art in a 19th-century grist mill. Free on Sunday mornings.

• Early Bird Read and Look – Preschoolers and their families enjoy a picture book storytime featuring A Chair for My Mother at 10:15am.
• Family Gallery Tour – Kids and families get a special guided tour of the galleries exploring themes and art in the galleries featuring Picasso to Pollack. Starts at 11:30am.
• Doodle 4 Google – Students in grades K-12 are invited to come to the Great Hall from 12-3pm to create their own google doodle inspired by the theme “If I could travel in time, I’d visit…” Materials provided.
• Tours for Tots – Geared especially for the 3-5 yr old set, Travel through Asia allows kids to explore with play and hands on activities. Starts at 11:30am.
• Medieval Art Stops – discover the secrets behind the armor, stained glass, masonry and panel painting. Runs from 11am – 2pm.
Admission is $16 for adults, children ages 13-18 $12 and under 12 are free.
