Recently I had the opportunity to attend a super fun event called the Mom Mixer Holiday Showcase in Philadelphia at the beautiful XIX Restaurant on the 19th floor of the Hyatt at the Bellvue Hotel. The event was organized by the lovely and uber-awesome team of Colleen Padilla of Classy Mommy and Whitney Wingerd of Mommies with Style. This was a great chance for the incredible community of social media moms from the Philadelphia area (and beyond!) to come out and mingle, get in the holiday spirit, and get to know some really exciting brands and hot products for this holiday season.
I had a blast at this event just seeing what some of the hot brands were showcasing for the holiday season and getting to know some wonderful people and products. Plus, I’m always game for a great excuse to hang out with fun moms and catch up with friends I don’t get to see enough in real life!

Highlights of the MomMixer for me included meeting Stella & Dot Star Stylist, Jen Thomas and seeing the gorgeous collection of jewelry and accessories she had on display. I was practically drooling and even signed up to host my own Stella & Dot Trunk Show! If you’re not familiar with Stella & Dot they are a San Francisco based social selling company, and an Inc. 500 Fastest-Growing Company, that creates flexible entrepreneurial opportunities for women.
Stella & Dot’s boutique-style jewelry and accessories line is available exclusively through in-home Trunk Shows by Independent Stylists and online. Their one of a kind collections are designed by celebrated New York designers and featured in Gossip Girl, In Style and Lucky Magazine as well as on the wrists and necklines of today’s hottest celebrities. The Today Show, Wall Street Journal and The New York Times have praised Stella & Dot for their innovative social shopping concept which brings together the best of ecommerce, social media, personal service and passionate earning to create the ultimate home based business for today’s modern woman. And guess what? Now you can even browse and shop my Trunk Show online at http://www.stelladot.com/ts/6hcl5. Have fun getting some of your holiday shopping done or treat yourself to a little something special to wear to holiday parties this season. Hope you enjoy it all as much as I do! And if you’re in the area and want to come try on jewelry and have some fun send me an email and I’ll get you an invite.
Barely There was another brand I was delighted to meet and had not been familiar with before the MomMixer. They offer a unique line of bras, panties and shapewear that are super comfortable or as they say”fit amazingly and look fabulous.” I loved the Bandini which offered such flexibility in how it was worn and adjustable straps. I am definitely getting one of these for summer looks. Barely There was also offering free bra fittings to help determine your correct size and offer great tips for bra shopping and maintenance. For example, did you know these super great tips for bras? Always try on new bras using the middle clasp so you can have room to expand on either side. Never put bras in the dryer. When you wash a bra, be sure to hook the clasps so they don’t catch on your sweaters and other clothing.
And for the kiddos (lest I give the impression that the focus was only on the moms) there were wonderful products for the holiday season from Hasbro, Tommy Hilfiger, Just Play, and Knex. VZ Wraps and Cherchies were also there offering great reusable gift bags and delicious dips and snacks. I was particularly smitten with the new Just Play Doc McStuffins “Time for Your Check-Up” Doll. This doll is based on the new Disney Jr. animated series about the girl who heals toys out of her backyard clinic and includes the little side-kick best friend Lambie too. The doll sings and talks and uses her magic stethoscope and special tools to give Lambie her check-up. I’m sorry but I LOVE this doll. My kids play doctor all the time. They play it on their baby dolls, each other, the cats. And, that’s so cool. But with this doll they can actually interact with it and enjoy learning too!
But, I have to tell you that I am saving the best for last as for me the highlight of this whole event was the opportunity to learn about Little Passports. Little Passports is an incredible San Francisco-based company founded by two moms wanting to design an inspiring and fun way for kids to learn about other countries and the 50 states. Little Passports offers two products: a World Edition and a newly launched USA Edition that are subscription services that feature a new monthly delivery for your kids as they follow Sam and Sofia on adventures around the US or the Globe. Be sure to check back tomorrow as I’ll be telling you a lot more about Little Passports and even offering one lucky phillyfun4kids reader the chance to win a free initial discovery kit, too!

Many MANY thanks to all the incredible sponsors and brands who participated in the Mom Mixer and of course super special thanks to our hostesses Colleen and Whitney, too!
Disclaimer: I was very generously given several free products at the MomMixer to enjoy and/or review. As always, all opinions expressed about fun festive opportunities to get together with the coolest women in Philadelphia and getting to meet new incredible brands and products for the holiday season are my own.
