Yesterday I told you about the incredible Mom Mixer Holiday Showcase hosted recently at XIX Restaurant at the Hyatt at the Bellvue. And I told you about all the incredible toys, gifts, jewelry, and products several Philadelphia area social media mom bloggers got to discover there including my personal fave for the kiddos – Little Passports.
While all the incredible brands and products were fantastic the real highlight of this whole event was definitely the opportunity to learn about Little Passports. Little Passports is an incredible San Francisco-based company founded by two moms wanting to design an inspiring and fun way for kids to learn about other countries and the 50 states.
|Sam and Sofia – the traveling
characters in Little Passports
Little Passports offers two products: a World Edition and a newly launched USA Edition that are subscription services that feature a new monthly delivery for your kids as they follow Sam and Sofia on adventures around the US or the globe.
The USA Edition initial first month discovery kit includes:
~ a Letter from Sam and Sofia
~ a field guide
~ a USA Wall Map
~ a USA scratch book
~ a disposable camera and
~ Photo scavenger hunt
Each monthly delivery after that includes a two-state travel journal FILLED with 32 pages of activities, sticker sheets, 3D pop out models and access to even more educational material online.
The World Edition inittial first month discovery kit includes:
~ a suitcase for holding Future Little Passports souvenirs
~ a letter introducing Sam, Sofia and their magical scooter
~ a wall sized world map to track Sam and Sofia’s travels
~ a passport, suitcase stickers, and photo
~ an activity sheet
~ a collectable boarding pass with a secret code to access games in the online Boarding Zone
Each monthly delivery after the initial Explorer Kit delivers the magic and excitement of a new country. For example, in the Japan mailing, your child receives an adventure letter from Sam and Sofia describing their adventures on Mr. Fuji and at Tsukjil, the largest fish market in the world. Each monthly delivery also includes a unique souvenir from that country. In the case of Japan your child gets a sushi eraser and origami paper! Plus, the delivery includes a photo of Sam and Sofia in-country, an activity sheet that introduces new and exciting elements of Japanese culture, and passport and map stickers to travel alongside Sam and Sofia. Plus, the Japan kit includes a collectable boarding pass providing access to the Japan online games. Each month and each delivery features another country with similarly entertaining and engaging materials and access to online games.
These kits are incredible. I cannot wait to get one for our girls. Creating global citizens is very VERY important to me as a parent and I’m delighted to find Little Passports because their original product, Little Passports World Edition was created to entertain and educate children by generating excitement about upcoming global adventures. My kids are too young to travel around the world but now we can start exposing them to countries and cultures in a way that almost feels like real travel (and where we parents get to learn, too) through Little Passports!
While at the recent Mom Mixer I had a unique opportunity to chat with Amy Norman, one of the co-founders of Little Passports, at some length and was so excited to hear that the World Edition has two years (2 YEARS! – 24 Countries) of subscription service available and that parents and kids alike are clamoring for more. She said kids love to play with their souvenirs that are included in their deliveries each month and that it really drives the learning experience home and makes it much more engaging and connected for the little learners.
I also love that the prices are so affordable (unlike many subscription services) ranging from just $10.95 a month – $13.95 a month depending on the subscription type you select. You can get just the initial discovery kit or 3 month, 6 month or 12 month packages. SO COOL! What a great gift idea for any kid on your list, right? Or a unique birthday present for a classmate or other hard to shop for child in your life. This is of course a fantastic and truly unique holiday present that parents and grandparents can feel good about buying for the kids in their lives.
And, thanks to Little Passports now one lucky phillyfun4kids reader can win either an initial World Edition discovery kit or a USA Edition discovery kit, too!! Simply fill out the rafflecopter form below by 12:01 am on Wednesday Nov. 28th to enter. Good luck and enjoy “traveling” with Little Passports!
