I don’t know about you but I am a huge fan of WXPN, Philadelphia’s non-commercial, independent public radio station playing some of the best music around. For several years now my family and I have been able to enjoy the annual Kids Corner Music Festival too. If you’re never been, this is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy family friendly music and fun in a local live music venue with your little ones as they dance and sing along too.
The Kids Corner Music Festival is happening this year on Sunday, April 3 and starts at 11 am ET downstairs at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia and features live performances by three of today’s top “kindie” artists: Tim Kubart & The Space Cadets, Laura Dougherty & The Heartbeats and Duke Otherwise. The Kids Corner Music Festival holds greatest appeal for kids ages 2-8 but trust me – all ages will be rocking along, too.
The Kids Corner Music Festival is just one of the many highlights of the 2016 KindieComm conference happening April 1-3 in Philadelphia that celebrates music for kids. Kindie music artists from all over the US and beyond will gather in Philadelphia from April 1-3 to learn, network, perform, share and celebrate everything “kindie” – an independent style of children’s music that melds the sensibility of the singer-songwriter with themes aimed at kids under age 12.
KindieComm is the only event of its kind anywhere and presents industry-only professional panels, workshops, interactive sessions, and an industry showcase. The Kids Corner Music Festival concert for the entire family on Sunday, April 3 is a true celebration of the kindie genre and definitely one of THE not to miss family events of the year in the region!
