My husband is an incredible father. He is kind and loving to our girls and a very hands on daddy. He bestows many gifts on our two young girls – of his time, his desire to be a good male role model, his ability to play barbies, to wake up in the middle of the night if needed, to make a snack, kiss a boo-boo and so much more. But perhaps the coolest gift he’s ever “given” our girls is their own app.
He created an app from scratch called Kiddie Christmas Tree for our older daughter Sophie after seieng how adept she was at using and playing games on an iPhone at a very young age. Seeing her using an iPhone like it was second nature, paging through screens and using games before she was even 2 years old led him to want to come up with a special holiday game that she would enjoy. He developed it, wrote it, and launched it in Dec. 2010 and it has been available in the iTunes App Store since. Last year in Dec. 2011, Kiddie Christmas Tree got all new graphics making it even more visually appealing. It’s a fun and easy app that encourages free form play without any competition or scoring. Very festive and kids – especially younger kids – really enjoy the simple act of decorating their christmas tree, catching snowflakes (by tapping them) and seeing holiday surprises revealed (like Santa, the green candy cane, or the purple ornament!). You can even take a photo of your finished tree and save it to your iPhone!
Kiddie Christmas Tree is only .99 cents and available for iPhone and iPad in the iTunes App Store.
