OK, so any of you that know me are abundantly aware that I’m mildly obsessed with food and that I have at least one child that eats very little.. unless it’s made of shrimp. (sigh, it’s my cross to bear) This being said, I love to surf the web in my free moments looking for good food blogs and recipes that I can tempt my little ones with. Since it is a lazy Saturday morning and I’m on vacation, I thought I would share a couple of my favorites:
http://www.tastespotting.com/ “a community potluck” It was founded in 2007 on the premise that we “feast with our eyes” first. TasteSpotting is a collection of eye-catching e-Polaroids of the most delectable food I’ve ever seen- search by recipe, ingredient or whatever and when you select an image, it links you to the blog where it’s posted. And Tastespotting actually has an editorial team that tests everything before it’s posted so you can be sure that the recipes actually work with way they are supposed to. Yum
http://www.mommyskitchen.net/ talk about home-style yum. My husband’s family has uber traditional culinary roots-To this very day, Grandmom has a way of attracting family from far and wide for gatherings where she effortlessly whips together elaborate buffets of classically American food. Forget pesto- I’m talking salt, pepper, butter and a hearty helping of love, man oh man- all I have to say is that it always rocks. My brother-in-law (an amazing cook) turned me on to this site (mommyskitchen). It doesn’t have a bunch of bells and whistles, but the food is REALLY good. And the kids seem to love everything on it, so that being said, Yum 4 me, Yum 4 monkeys.
Now I’ve gotta say- these are my faves at the moment but I’m sure that my (way more together) co-blogger and inspiration, Jen could offer up a few gems too.
