Journey across  the Marigold Bridge with Miguel from Disney Pixar’s Coco into the magnificent and mystical Land of the Dead and discover a vibrantly colorful performance with skeletons atop sway poles dancing over the audience in a beautiful cultural celebration of family.

Travel to the wintry world of Arendelle and sing along with Elsa as video projection creates a kaleidoscope of crystals to help build her ice palace. Witness Belle lift into the sky as the enchanted chandelier comes to life high over the ice. Demonstrate the power of teamwork when Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jessie recruit the Green Army Men for a  daring rescue in Andy’s room. Sail away with Moana on her daring voyage across the ocean and bravely encounter the fiery wrath of Te Ka. And make memories with your whole family during Aladdin andThe Little Mermaid as the search party becomes an all- out celebration.

Temperatures are dropping with the latest winter vortex blowing in and there is more snow in the forecast for Philly this week but there are still some fun events to enjoy safely either in person or virtually from home.


The National Constitution Center is re-opening Feb. 12th. Reserve your advance tickets now. Or enjoy virtual interactive events such as presidential trivia and much more all President’s Day weekend long. Find virtual experiences and content here.

Check out the Museum of the American Revolution either onsite or online with family-friendly tours, talks, crafts, and more. Explore the nation’s first president, George Washington, and the diverse range of people he would have interacted with through the virtual first oval office sneak peek online tour. And, don’t miss the museum’s special exhibition When Women Lost the Vote: A Revolutionary Story, 1776-1807, which explores the stories of the nation’s first women voters, now available online as a virtual exhibit and on view at the museum through April 25th.

Celebrate Black History Month all February long through virtual programs offered by the African American History Museum including a look at Civil Rights activists in the Through His Eyes: Youth Activism in the Civil Rights Era in Philadelphia collection of photographs of Black youth that bring attention to young activists. Summer Fun for Philly Families

As Philly’s museums and attractions are starting to re-open, we urge you to continue to be cautious as you and your family start safely exploring again. Please remember to wear your masks, wash your hands frequently, and practice proper social distancing if and when you do go out and about.

Here is a short list of some major Philly area attractions that are re-opening or have already opened. Please be sure to call or check their websites before you go to make sure you are fully aware of any new safety protocols that you may have to observe.

The Franklin Institute re-opened as of July 8 with limited hours and capacity Wed.-Sun. only through limited timed tickets. All guests over age 3 are required to wear face coverings and have temperature checks upon entry.

The Penn Museum re-opened on July 28 and is strongly encouraging advanced booking of timed tickets prior to visiting the museum to keep transactions contact free and to limit capacity. Visitors will be asked to follow a one-way route through the museum galleries and are asked to follow the arrow markings on the floor to ensure proper social distancing.

The Academy of Natural Sciences re-opened last Fri. July 31 and is offering offering timed ticketing allowing reduced museum capacity to 25% or less and encourages social distancing of 6 feet. The Academy recommends you purchase your tickets online for a low-touch entry. Your online tickets will be emailed to you as a PDF attachment.

The Philadelphia Zoo re-opened on July 9 for outside exhibits only (no indoor areas are open to the public). High-touch attractions such as the swan boats and carousel will remain closed and limited capacity is enforced through advanced ticketing only.

Elmwood Park Zoo re-opened on Fri. June 26 with single-day tickets available through online reservations only. Areas are marked with directional signage and not all areas are open to the public yet.

The Brandywine River Museum re-opened on July 1 with normal operating hours but is only offering timed ticketing to minimize the number of visitors into the building.

Drive-In Movies are making a come back and now more than ever before you have options to check one out!

Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks is offering a Pop-Up Cinema Drive-In experience with a great range of movies from The Wizard of Oz running tonight Sat. Aug. 1st at 9pm to Gremlins on Fri. Aug. 14th. Movies are currently running Thurs. – Sun. with shows starting at 9pm. Advanced tickets are required and can be purchased online for $25 per car.

Main Line Animal Rescue is offering Drive-In move experience for a great cause on Saturday Aug. 15th featuring The Sandlot with gates opening at 6:30 and the movie starting at 7:45pm. Tickets are $10 General Admission, $7 for kids ages 6-12, and kids under 5 free. Drive-in movies are held on MLAR’s 60-acre farm and brings together animal advocates, movie buffs, and fellow-hunker-downers in the surrounding communities for an evening of shared family fun—all while appropriately socially distancing in individual vehicles. Bring your own grahams, chocolate, and ‘mallows and enjoy an evening at the drive-in!

The Navy Yard is offering an array of fun for all ages all from the comfort of your own car at its The Parking Lot Social events. Check out great classic movies, trivia, DJs, and even get street food to enjoy in your car.

Many area orchards and farms are open and offering pick-your own fruit and other socially distant outdoor fun. Check out these select farms for unique outdoor fun.

Linvilla Orchards in Media, PA offers pick your own peaches, blueberries and more. Please note: animals, playground and picnic area are all closed still.

Maple Acres Farm in Plymouth Meeting, PA is offering pick your own flowers, corn, blueberries and more

Shadybrook Farm Yardly, PA has sweet corn, peaches, flowers and more.

A lot has changed in the world over the past few weeks and we are all looking for some family fun while we’re on extended stay at home flattening the curve of COVID-19 with our kiddos. Even though we can’t go inside anywhere physically anytime soon there are so many incredible things you can do virtually with your kids and families so we have put together this list for you of some of our favorite all-virtual activities and things to do while you are at home.

Philadelphia Zoo offers daily Philly Zoo at 2 Facebook Live videos daily at 2pm ET with their zoo animals and keepers.

Cincinnati Zoo offers Home Safari Facebook Live videos each day at 3pm ET with their animals and keepers.

Enjoy Zoo School Live each day at 11am ET from Elmwood Park Zoo and other fun content to do at home on the new EPZoo2U portal.

Parked At Home from the National Park Service allows you to enjoy the beauty and splendor of the country’s national parks from the comfort and safety from home. Take a virtual visit and enjoy some educational activities and fun.

NASA at Home includes e-books, podcasts, videos NASA calls “bingeable,” do-it-yourself science experiments, and virtual tours. There’s even an app that allows you to take control of a NASA aircraft.

Brandywine At Home is offering virtual museum tours and art activities for all ages including virtual tours of exhibits and calming videos of the museum’s nature trails.

Explore the Barnes Foundation with Barnes at Home online videos including Barnes Takeout with short doses of paintings in 5-10 mins.

Philadelphia Magic Gardens has Visit From Home with virtual tours, activity sheets and more.

Curtis Institute of Music has launched Curtis Is Here daily at 12pm ET featuring videos of favorite or rarely seen Curtis performances accompanied by welcoming commentary from members of the Curtis community.

Virtual Philadelphia Orchestra brings music into your home with interactive education and enrichment for all ages including a past or previously unreleased Philadelphia Orchestra performance every Thurs. at 8pm ET.

The Penn Museum at Home is offering at home anthropology, digital digs, and virtual gallery tours.

National Museum of Mathematics has virtual field trips and online lessons as well as MoMath interactive lessons via Zoom (for a fee) starting April 6.

2020 MLK Weekend Celebration

The African American Museum of Philadelphia celebrates Martin Luther King all weekend long with special programs and events. On Sat. the museum hosts a day of service where visitors make care packages for Philadelphia families. On Sunday the museum presents Journey: Sounding Resistance and on Monday the annual MLK Day Celebration includes the Citizens Bank Scavenger Hunt, a visit from the Phillie Phanatic, the MLK Memorial Concert and a reenactment of King by Carlo Campbell. Admission is just $2 all weekend long through sponsorship by Citizens Bank.
